Joanna Prokurat

Partner, Tax Advisor

Joanna holds the position of a Partner in the tax advisory department of TPA Poland. She is professionally qualified as a legal advisor and tax advisor.

She has many years of experience in tax and business advisory services for foreign and Polish entities operating in various industries, including real estate, finance, FMCG, energy. She is a renowned expert in tax consulting for the new technology sector, including fintech, gaming or e-sports. Her areas of expertise include tax planning, transactional support, effective corporate taxation, and tax compliance management systems.

Joanna has an extensive track record in the identification and implementation of public aid, including structuring new investments, applying for or accounting of state aid. Her experience includes tax and non-tax support instruments. She provides legal consulting services in this area. She advised in the field of gambling law.

She started her professional career in 2006. She worked in the Big Four companies, also as a manager, as well as in a leading Polish law firm, where she was a partner in the tax law practice. She is a recognized tax law expert, awarded individual distinctions in international rankings such as Legal500 and Chambers&Partners.

She gives lectures at postgraduate university courses, and conducts seminars, training courses or workshops. She has authored or co-authored numerous books, scientific articles and publications in the trade press.

Joanna holds a doctorate in law, a master’s degree in law, a master’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in international relations. In addition, she completed a doctorate in economics, as well as postgraduate studies in taxation and tax law.

She is fluent in Polish, English and has an intermediate level of knowledge of German.
